My Entrepreneurship Story

My Entrepreneurship has begun in 2003 when I was 11 years old and continuing as of now. Themes and interests have changed dozens of times but I’m still here. Back when I was 11, that was my 7th grade at school, I became computer enthusiast. I was saving money to build my own computer, and this deal encouraged me to learn more about computer systems, hardware components, system unit components brands and models, brands and models of different parts, and about software. Although, it was more like a hobby for me, since I still liked to spend time with other kids outside, I was able to get enough money, built and bought my own computer. I quickly became advanced user and started helping other kids and assisting their parents for a "reward" choosing best and most reliable parts and computer for lowest price as I was constantly researching where to buy them for lowest price with highest possible discounts. On top of that, I did provide setup services, installations, and software modifications for twice if not three times less expensive than other local firms. So, this was my first encounter with product and service, both at the same time. Back then I didn’t realize there is more money in product, so I continued to provide services more. Also, sometimes I was buying broken system units and hardware, fixing them by soldering or replacing parts, and reselling them. I remember Acer computers had hardware defects with part called “southbridge” that appeared after warranty period expiration, and I knew how to easily fix it. By the way, this was in Russia, and it was a bit different there than here in the US. Last year of my high school, and first 2 years of university there, I started reselling working products and making money out of it by buying cheap and selling for retail price. After that, I opened my online store, over time I even opened an ebay and amazon store where I was selling decent number of products. I was ordering something from china in bulk and selling individually. In addition, I tried launching websites business, and I made a great profit from creating two websites. But I didn’t create them myself from a to z. I was just a person in the middle who knew two great professional, freelancers - one designer, and one programmer, and I knew what my clients wanted, so I just paid them per project salary but billed my client bigger amount. Because I didn’t spend enough money on marketing, and these two people were hired by a large company this business went nowhere.
These are just some examples of beginning my entrepreneurship. After this a lot has changed, including my interests. Now I’m more looking for passive income and products, my interests now are real estate & development, land and properties acquisition, performing and nonperforming notes, and trading. However, I would still like to do something that I enjoy.

Why ENT 3003:
I took this course simply because I enjoy learning something new and would like to get new different visions, deepen my knowledge, sharpen my skills…to look at problems differently, in various ways, finding new pats to find solutions, not sure if this a part of this course, although after my consultation with advisor this sounded like a great course and something that I shall enjoy.

    1. thank you Kindra, I wish you best of luck in your journey as well .. After I wrote this I realized I have more stories from my young age .. this is funny to remember such things after so much time passed, as I mostly try to look what's in the present and plan the future.. I rarely look into the past, but it is great to remember .. it's like driving on highway for hours when you don't realize how many miles you passed

  2. Wow, your story is amazing. How you started yourself up from the age of eleven and onward, fixing broken parts, having your own websites, selling products, and having your own business. I like how you continue to strive on despite what has brought you down, but you prevail, you keep moving forward, and I wish the best for you in your future endeavors.
