Story Description:
Bank of America mistakenly tried to foreclose on homeowner who purchased his house for cash. This forced homeowner to hire a foreclosure defense attorney to stop the lawsuit. After the matter was resolved, within next 5 months the homeowner tried to seek a reimbursement for his attorney expense and tried to contact Bank of America unsuccessfully many times. This led to a foreclosure against the bank and reposition of bank assets.


Problem Description:  bank clerical mistake including lack of communication between bank and homeowner led to a chain of events and foreclosure on a Bank of America by a homeowner.


Who has the Problem: homeowners Warren and Maureen Nyerges, bank clerks and managers, branch manager, their attorney, whoever bank customers were at the day homeowner came to the branch to reposes bank assets.

Sarasota County has filed a complaint against a Rhode Island corporation, claiming defects in the firm’s renovations of Ed Smith Stadium for the Baltimore Orioles’ use during Spring Training and failure of the firm to correct the problems. The county seeks damages “in excess of $15,000 plus pre-judgment interest, attorney’s fees and costs,” the complaint says, for each of three counts: breach of contact, breach of implied warranty and negligence.

Story Description:
The Searstown site is a large developing community of high-rises, with the tallest two soaring 30 stories and other buildings rising 15 and 17 stories in Fort Lauderdale. The article describes challenges it faces as of this moment and possible solutions.

Problem Description:  There is a problem that Searstown plaza causes for nearby properties near downtown Fort Lauderdale. This development will cause congestions and more traffic on Sunrise Boulevard, one of Fort Lauderdale’s busiest roads.The Florida Department of Transportation has proposed triple left turn lanes on U.S. 1 and East Sunrise Boulevard to help alleviate traffic congestion near the Searstown and U.S. 1 intersection in Fort Lauderdale.

Who has the Problem: Developers, investors, city engineers, traffic department, construction team, residents of neighborhood, people who work in downtown or in that area because of possible traffic issue

Story Description:
Story explains what are benefits and disadvantages of having solar panel installed to your home, cost analysis, related maintenance issues, wind resistance, comparison between leasing and buying solar equipment, different angle view about solar panels.

Problem Description:  High cost of energy provided by local power providers such as FPL.


Who has the Problem: electric power consumer, homeowners, possible electric power providers.


Opportunity 5


Title: “North Port growing into its future.”





Story Description:
The city of North Port, Sarasota county, is seeing extensive expansion of retail, restaurants and other service industries in North Port.


Problem Description:  I see several problems, one of the most important: North Port is growing due to lack of affordable housing in city of Sarasota which is only 30 mins away. This causes developing and increasing population of city of North Port. Therefore, it causes shortage of homes and more construction, then construction prices go up as demand increases. Shortage of commercial hubs and “activity centers,” since most of the lots in North Port are residential and individually owned High cost of energy provided by local power providers such as FPL.  Possible solution proposed: “On the horizon, I see us having to rezone lots to create economic development and commercial zones.”


Who has the Problem: city of North Port municipality, Sarasota county, residents,  city planning department and city and county engineers, builders customers as prices go up, real estate buyers, contractors.
